 The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has said it is ready for the screening of 1,385 aspirants jostling for the party’s chairmanship and councillorship seats in the forthcoming council elections.
This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by the state secretary of the party, Lanre Ogunyemi.
Ogunyemi said 332 chairmanship and 1,053 councillorship aspirants were to be screened across the 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas of the state.
He said, “About 332 chairmanship aspirants are expected to be screened, while 1,053 councillorship aspirants will undergo the screening exercise across the state. ....

Nigeria lost over 2,000 citizens to worsening insecurity in the first quarter of 2021, Civil Society Organisations have said.
The Joint Action Civil Society Coalition, comprising 125 nongovernmental organisations berated the regime of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), for its inability to curtail the disturbing security challenges confronting the nation.
