District 128 Seeks Local Businesses For Summer Vocational Work Experience     Updated 5/27/2021 11:01 AM District 128 is seeking partnerships with local community businesses and students with disabilities attending both Libertyville and Vernon Hills High Schools. The partnership will allow the students to help the business, while the business will provide a place for them to practice essential workplace skills needed to gain future paid employment. What does that mean or look like?   D128 is providing a summer school vocational work experience class for a small group of students 6/22/21-7/15/21 ( No class on 6/22 or 7/5) between 8:15am to 12:45pm. We are seeking businesses that would be willing to allow a few students and a staff member to come in and do hands-on work to learn soft skills to improve their employability.

After national search, Vernon Hills finds its next village manager in Wauconda Kevin Timony Updated 5/5/2021 4:25 PM The search for a new village manager in Vernon Hills attracted interest from coast to coast, but the chosen candidate grew up down the street. Wauconda Village Administrator Kevin Timony will succeed Mark Fleischhauer as village manager starting July 6. His selection from among 76 applicants was announced Tuesday.   The village in January hired GovHR USA, a Northbrook recruiting firm, to help find a replacement for Fleischhauer, who had announced his retirement but agreed to stay until a successor was chosen. Fleischhauer said the process was very competitive with a number of exceptional candidates.
