Telefonica tapped longtime strategic partner Microsoft to strengthen its private 5G network product with integrated edge compute capabilities, in a move meant to boost industrial deployments.
Gonzalo Martín-Villa, CEO of IoT and Big Data at Telefónica Tech, said in a statement combining the capabilities of both companies will allow it to offer customers “a framework for the creation, deployment and operation of industrial solutions and their private communications in an integrated way inside and outside the factory.” ....

Telecom giant Verizon is teaming with cloud-based unified communications leader RingCentral to develop a co-branded UCaaS offering for enterprises.
As part of the new partnership, Verizon Business and RingCentral will work on cloud communications solutions with integrated team messaging, video meetings, and a cloud phone system for enterprise business users, regardless of their locations, the two companies announced on Monday. ....

Verizon expands IoT coverage to 170 countries

Verizon Business is taking its IoT connectivity global, meaning it’s expanding its IoT coverage to 170 countries and activating global customers using eSIM technology.
Verizon has been offering IoT roaming in the past in select markets, but this new direction has it enabling permanent roaming in Canada and Western Europe, according to a company representative. It’s also allowing U.S. multinational companies to contract locally.
The global coverage offers organizations the chance to manage an array of IoT devices, including asset trackers, industrial gateways and sensors via the self-service ThingSpace platform, according to the carrier. ....

Urtubey, an educator for 11 years, teaches at Kermit R. Booker, Sr. Innovative Elementary School in Las Vegas, where she serves as a co-teacher in pre-kindergarten through fifth-grade special education settings and as an instructional strategist developing supports to meet students differing academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs.
