A WOMAN from Weymouth whose eight pets suffered extreme neglect has been banned from keeping animals for five years. Weymouth Magistrates Court heard Deanna Pritchard considers herself an animal lover but admitted failing to care for a cat, four hens, a royal python, a corn snake and a female hamster. The court heard Pritchard tried to blame one of her children for the condition the hamster was found in when RSPCA officers visited her home, in Meadow Close. The cat was pregnant and had been left in severe agony after injuring its tail, while the royal python, cornsnake and hamster all had to be put down due to their condition. ....
A COURT has backed the DVLA s decision to revoke the driving licence of a Weymouth motorist who drove ‘aggressively’. Jack Oliver Michael Reece tried to evade officers as he drove his black Volkswagen Golf in Chapelhay, and gave them the ‘middle finger’ on March 30 last year when they asked him to stop, Weymouth Magistrates Court heard. The 21-year-old, of Corporation Road, also admitted a second offence of driving without due care and attention while behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta with a passenger on November 5, 2019. He had been spotted by police driving down a no-entry road near Hope Square. ....

Hephizibah Elspeth Watts, 29, confronted a group of people in Beaminster on New Year s Day. She coughed in their faces, saying she had coronavirus and acted in an aggressive manner. Watts, of East Street, Bridport admitted three counts of assault when she appeared at Weymouth Magistrates Court. Watts was said to be mentally unwell and had no memory of the incident which was described by her solicitor as isolated . Elizabeth Valera, prosecuting, read out a victim statement in court. ....
