Jeffrey Haslett accused of Boston carjacking, striking victim with BB gun, police say Updated Jan 30, 2021; A 36-year-old Quincy man is facing charges after Boston police say he struck a victim with a BB gun during a carjacking. Before 1:15 a.m., a man on Dorchester Avenue was approached by Jeffrey Haslett, who asked for a ride to the area of Boston Medical Center. When they got close to the hospital, Haslett became violent and struck the victim in the back of the head with what appeared to be a firearm and was later determined to be a BB gun, according to a statement from Boston police. ....
Police responded to multiple 911 calls about 10:05 p.m. that night reporting shots fired. A vehicle had struck a tree and had damage consistent with being involved in a shooting, the Plymouth County district attorney s office said. The victim, Ramos, was taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, where he died. Since that time, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Plymouth County DA s office and Brockton police have been investigating the murder. As a result, investigators developed probable cause to charge Mathieu with murder, the DA s office said in a statement Tuesday afternoon. In the days after Ramos killing, police identified Mathieu as a known associate of Ramos and the Wendover Street gang in Boston and said they wanted to speak to him and his brother about the murder because they were concerned his home may be targeted by retaliatory gunfire. ....
