An Alabama father has been charged with manslaughter after his missing baby son was found dead.
The Montgomery County Sheriff s Office (MCSO) said the body of one-month-old Caleb Whisnand Jr. was found on Wednesday after he was first reported missing at around 10:45 p.m. on Monday.
His parents, Caleb Whisnand Sr., 32, and Angela Nicole Gardner, 28, had pleaded for their son s return during a press conference on Wednesday just hours before the baby s remains were found.

According to AL.com, Whisnand Sr. pleaded for the public to help and said: I don t remember a lot but I did remember I was breaking up, ya know, with the cops. If anybody s got anything, any places that I could have gone, you know who you are. ....

As he tried to recall details of the last time he was with his missing 5-week-old son and family, Caleb Whisnand shook his head and furrowed his brow outside the Montgomery County Sheriff s Office on Wednesday evening.
I don t remember much, Whisnand said.
Hours later, investigators discovered Caleb Michael Whisnand, Jr. s body buried in a remote area of Lowndes County, according to court documents, and charged his father with reckless manslaughter.
Now, authorities plan to upgrade the charge to capital murder based on additional evidence uncovered during the infant s autopsy.
Information in the case has been scarce and confusing since the baby, known as CJ, was reported missing by Whisnand on Monday night. Whisnand and CJ s mother, Angela Gardner, muddied the official timeline of the case while speaking to media on Wednesday. Whisnand frequently failed to complete sentences and couldn t provide clear details of what may have happened before ....

Search underway for missing 1 month old in Montgomery County

A search is underway for a one-month-old who authorities say has been missing since Monday night.
Caleb Whisnand Jr. was last seen about 10:45 p.m. Monday at the Circle K on Wetumpka Highway in Montgomery County. No other details surrounding the circumstances of Caleb’s disappearance are being released at this time, authorities said.
ALEA early Tuesday issued an Emergency Missing Child Alert, but not an Amber Alert.
Caleb is a white male. He weighs 10 pounds and was last known to be wearing a camouflage onesie.

Montgomery man facing attempted murder charges months after double shooting

Lamar Edward Graham, 24, was arrested Wednesday on warrants issued in November.
The two victims were at the business in the 4100 block of Wetumpka Highway Nov. 5 when Graham allegedly opened fire with a rifle at about 1:30 a.m.
One victim suffered gunshot wounds to his right leg and right forearm, while the other was shot in her buttocks and upper right arm, according to Graham s arrest affidavit.
Warrants on the two charges of attempted murder and shooting into an occupied building were issued five days after the shooting.
Upon Graham s arrest, he was booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility with combined $110,000. ....
