Feb 6, 2021 Gazzaley M. “Abby” Abdo, a lifelong resident of Weirton, WV, died Wednesday, February 3, 2021. He was 67. Gazzaley was born on June 10, 1953, one of four children born to Mohamed and Elsie Harezey Abdo. Abby graduated from Weir High School in 1971 and went on to work at Weirton Steel, where he retired at 38 years of service. In his free time, Abby enjoyed riding his Harley. He often would participate in poker runs to help support local charities. Abby also enjoyed fishing and boating on Tappan Lake, Lake Erie, and Put In Bay. He cherished the times with his loving family and friends and could not wait to grill out and treat them to a good time. ....

Jan 29, 2021 FRANKLIN DAVID CHRISTIAN SHULER, M.D., PhD., C.I.M.E. lost his four year battle with HLH, a rare autoimmune disease on January 5, 2021 at Cabell Hospital, Huntington, WV. He was born January 14, 1967 in Steubenville, OH. He was a 1985 graduate of Weir High School, Weirton, WV where he made many lifetime friends who stood by him and with him, wearing their “Fight for Frank” t-shirts in support of him all around the world. He was a 1989 PreMed/Biology graduate of Bethany College in Bethany, WV. Frank was the first student to graduate from WVU, Morgantown, WV with a MD/PhD with honors in 1996. He did his residency at UPMC, Pittsburgh, PA in Orthopaedic Trauma surgery. ....
