Ever since he came home, he’s been fighting for his life, and says he’s gotten very little help from the Department of Veterans Affairs. “I can’t seem to get anyone to listen to what I try to tell them,” said Walton. Walton served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969-73. He was stationed in Thailand, working on camera systems carried aboard F-4 aircraft. He says that’s where he was exposed to Agent Orange.

Port Aransas resident Richard Titus served two years in the U.S. Navy. Recently, his friend, Ken Vaughn passed away shortly after Vaughn received a brand new prosthetic leg. The leg, a right leg, was waiting to be fitted and was never used. Titus wants to give it to someone who is in need of a leg and has had a hard time getting one. “Somebody’s got to have a use for this $20,000 leg, or how ever much not costs, I know it’s a very expensive leg,” said Titus. “I can’t throw it away, somebody needs a leg.”
