DES MOINES (KWWL) - Iowa House Minority Leader Todd Prichard, D-Charles City, asked Majority Leader Pat Grassley, R-New Hartford, to remove a Republican committee chair from his post Friday after several facebook posts about the election and Capitol riots.
Democrats say Rep. Dean Fisher, R-Montour, made false and threatening social media posts. Fisher has deleted the posts since but Iowa Democrats sent screenshots to KWWL.
Fisher is the chair of the House Environmental Protection Committee.
In the posts, Fisher says Democrats across the country are guilty of outright cheating and says Democratic-led states and cities engaged in shady practices while counting votes in November. ....

Called upon by Iowa House Minority Leader Todd Prichard to strip State Rep. Dean Fisher (R-Montour) of his committee assignments, Iowa House Speaker Pat Grassley made it clear he will not meet the request.
“Minority Leader Prichard is playing the exact partisan politics he hypocritically denounced in his opening comments just two short weeks ago,” Grassley said. “Just as we’re seeing from the left across the country, Leader Prichard clearly believes that the right to free speech should only belong to those he agrees with. This session, Republicans are focused on doing the job they were elected to do. With Republicans now representing part or all of 97 out of Iowa’s 99 counties, Iowans made their voices heard, unequivocally, that they want more of the steady leadership shown by House Republicans and less of the partisan games and attacks from Democrats.” ....

DES MOINES – In a letter sent to House Republican Leaders, Iowa House Minority Leader Todd Prichard has called on Speaker Pat Grassley to remove State Rep. Dean Fisher of Tama County from his role as Chair of the House Environmental Protection Committee and be stripped of his committee assignments. Prichard’s insistence follows a series of false and threatening social media posts made by Fisher following the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.
“A week ago, I requested that Rep. Fisher issue a public apology, accept responsibility for false social media posts, denounce the violence he condoned in his comments, and immediately stop spreading lies and conspiracy theories about the legitimacy of our elections,” said Prichard. “Since he refuses to tell the truth and condemn violence, Rep. Fisher must be held accountable for his actions. He should immediately be removed as Chair of the House Environmental Protection Committee and stripped of his committee ....
