March 1, 2021 at 10:00 am Saracen has overhauled its mountain bike line-up, with the Ariel name being given to a broad range of aluminium mountain bikes, from 130mm trail bikes up to park-ready 180mm rigs. There’s a new e-MTB Ariel too, which uses Shimano’s EP8 motor, and a mini Ariel for kids who rip. Advertisement Saracen has also shifted its sales model to a direct-sale model via its website, and, as we’d expect from a shortened supply chain, pricing for 2021 looks incredibly strong: the adult Ariel range starts with the Ariel 30 at £2,200 and tops out at £4,200 for the Ariel 60 Elite, and £6,500 for the Ariel E-50 Elite e-MTB. ....
MBR Vee Tire Attack Credit: Vee Tire Thai tyre brand, Vee Tire Co, has just launched a new aggressive tread aimed at DH and enduro racers, and it’s called the Attack HPL. Because the sidewall was tough and the tread’s compound seriously tacky, the tyre had unparalleled cornering traction. No matter how hard the tyres were pushed, it was virtually impossible to break traction. It has plenty of cornering control but that comes at the price of rolling speed. Ian Linton / Immediate Media The tread pattern – which uses parallel blocks with sipes – was easy to push through turns and the levels of grip were consistent with no sudden break away. An edge was also really easy to hold. ....
