It’s been two years since The Bread & Board owners Jonathan Cobbs and Dwayne Beliakoff met VyStar Credit Union CEO Brian Wolfburg on the patio of their Five Points restaurant in Riverside. The talk was about a restaurant and provision market for the ground-floor of VyStar’s six-story 100 W. Bay St. building on the credit union’s Downtown campus. After months of planning, the partnership grew and attention turned to the building’s rooftop. Beliakoff said Wolfburg made it clear he wanted something beyond an extension of The Bread & Board’s operations downstairs and more than a catering and event space for VyStar. ....
VyStar Credit Union can complete the renovated breezeway that runs between its two buildings and parking garage at its Downtown Jacksonville headquarters campus. The city issued a permit Dec. 21 for Dana B. Kenyon Co. to build the project at a cost of $1.62 million. VyStar said previously it anticipated opening the breezeway project by mid-2021. The Jacksonville-based financial institution bought the block comprising the 76 S. Laura St. VyStar Tower, the 100 W. Bay St. building and a parking structure. Renderings show the breezeway from West Bay Street through to Independent Drive with planters, sidewalk, hardscape space and an outdoor seating area.
