Farmers ready to talk if govt invites, no change in demands, says BKU leader Rakesh Tikait

The protestors and the government last had a formal dialogue over the contentious issue on January 22 but the impasse continued.

Ghaziabad: Farmers protesting the contentious new farm laws are ready to talk if the Centre invites them, BKU leader Rakesh Tikait said on Sunday, maintaining that the dialogue would resume where it had ended on January 22 and the demands remain unchanged.
He said for the talks to resume, the government should invite the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), an umbrella body representing the protestors who are camping at the three border points of Delhi at Singhu, Tikri and Ghazipur since November 2020. ....

Agri Bills: Farmers to march towards Parliament in May, says AIKS leader


Lakhs of farmers, protesting against the three farm laws passed by the union government last year, will march towards the Parliament on foot sometime in the middle of the month of May, said All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) General Secretary Hannan Mollah on Thursday.
Mollah told ANI that the march is being organised because the government is not listening to the voices of the farmers .
Modi Government and Parliament are not listening to the farmers then it is our right to go in front of Parliament and raise our demand and we will decide sometime between the middle in the month of May. Thousands of farmers will come to the border first, then march to Delhi on foot, he said. ....

CHANDIGARH/NEW DELHI: The Haryana Police have booked farmers for allegedly constructing concrete structures and digging a borewell near Singhu towards Kundli on National Highway-44.
The Singhu border near Delhi is the venue where hundreds of farmers have congregated in protest against the farm laws. Sources said the state police have registered two cases against the farmers. ....
