A PROMINENT Cumbria dairy farmer has offered his support and facilities to the new land-based courses being offered by Kendal College. Robert Craig of Cairnhead, near Armathwaite, who operates three dairy farming businesses across the North of England, has offered the college access to his 1,500-strong herd of dairy cattle for students to gain practical experience. Managing around 2,000 acres, Robert operates a grass-based farming system and can offer students the opportunity to study in a range of areas from vaccinations to stock management. He said: Cumbria is saturated with well-run farms in every sector. This is an untapped resource for those wishing to progress in this industry.
