Marking the completion of seven months of the ongoing farmers agitation, the protesting farmers gathered near Gurudwara Nada Sahib in Haryana s Panchkula on Saturday. The protestors then marched towards the Governor s residence to submit a memorandum seeking repeal of new farm laws. Heavy security was deployed for the same.
Mohit Handa, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Panchkula said, We ve enough force to tackle any situation. We ll try to deal with the situation peacefully. We hope that all the programs today will be conducted without any (violation of) law and order situation.

Farmers are ready to stay put on Delhi borders to protest against three agri laws for the remaining three and half years of the Modi government s second term and the stir cannot be culled any which way the Centre tries, legendary farm leader Mahendra Singh Tikait s son Narendra Tikait says. Narendra, who does not hold any official position in Bharatiya Kisan Union, formed by his father in 1986, and mostly focusses on the family s farming activities but is as vocal on issues concerning farmers as his two elder brothers Naresh and Rakesh Tikait who are leading from the front in the agitation that has been continuing for more than 100 days.

Noting that women contribute significantly to the countryâs farming sector, the organisers have laid out elaborate plans to let women farmers take center stage and all the space under the sky to acknowledge the âbig but unrecognisedâ part of the farming community. Thousands of women farmers especially from Punjab and Haryana will congregate at Delhiâs borders on Monday and the day will be entirely dedicated to women farmers, activists and students, farmer leaders said.

Gurugram police on high alert as agitating farmers from Singhu reach KMP Expressway
Hundreds of farmers riding trolleys reached the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway from the Singhu border on Saturday, and are waiting for instructions to implement the blockade planned by the farmers group. The farmers are slated to block the 135-km-long Western Peripheral Expressway, also known as KMP Expressway, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday to mark 100 days of protest against the Centre s farm laws.
The farmers agitation against the farm laws passed by the Central government, had started on November 26 last year. The move to block the expressway is a part of the strategy to intensify the ongoing protest against the contentious legislations.
