BUFFALO, N.Y. Approve the vaccine, prepare for the vaccine, distribute the vaccine. That s the expectation shared by most leading up to the arrival of the Pfizer vaccine and now the Moderna vaccine. 
However, as Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz stated earlier Thursday, there have been some issues with distribution this week.
ECMC s doses were not sent to ECMC, they were sent to Millard Fillmore Suburban and Olean General. I have no idea why, he said during a COVID-19 update. ....

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center was set to receive hundreds of doses of the Pfizer vaccine this week, instead the shipment was sent to Catholic Health.
But the New York State Health Department 7 Eyewitness News the hospital should expect to get vaccines. ....

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center to Realign Primary Care Network

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center today announced plans to realign its primary care network to better serve its growing number of patients.
The most significant change will be the closing of its North Tonawanda Primary Care Center and the relocation of its providers to other conveniently located sites.
The North Tonawanda office will close December 31. Beginning January 4, 2021, Dr. Adeel Amir will join the staff at Memorial’s Lewiston Primary Care Center and Physician Assistant Melitta Mendonca will see patients at the primary care center on Memorial’s downtown Niagara Falls campus. North Tonawanda Primary Care patients may also choose to receive care at Memorial primary care centers in Wheatfield and Grand Island. ....

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — The 170,000 of COVID-19 vaccines began arriving across New State Monday. 14,500 of those doses are also being sent to Western New York.
Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said he expects the first batch of vaccines will be heading straight to the hospitals.
“I was under the impression from my sources, some pretty good sources, they were arriving today or tomorrow,” stated Poloncarz. ....

Western New York hospitals preparing for vaccine distribution
Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul told reporters on a Zoom call on Friday, that in order for this to be successful, 75 to 80 percent of New Yorkers will need to be vaccinated.

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. Governor Andrew Cuomo announced earlier this week that New York State set up 90 regional distribution centers that are capable of cold storage to hold the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.
The Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center has already received a special freezer for storing the vaccine.
The freezer will be kept at -70 to -80 degrees Celsius. According to a release from the hospital, The freezer is housed in a secure room that has been modified to provide the additional electricity needed to operate it.   ....
