Photo / Supplied NZ Herald By: Graham Skellern The New Zealand sharemarket was a little edgy and fell nearly 1 per cent as it awaited Friday s unique exchange traded funds activity in the leading energy stocks, Contact and Meridian. The S&P/NZX 50 Index closed at 12,636.55, down 114.83 points or 0.9 per cent on solid volume of 64.6 million share transactions worth $219.62 million. The index fell from an early morning burst that reached 12,770.83 points. ....
Great ready for some outdoor excitement. Coming this fall, Mill City Park is expected to open to the public at Franklin Falls according to Boston.com. An old mill town closed its mill back in the 1970s and the town has sort of faded into obscurity. That is all about to change. The construction of Mill City Park is expected to begin in July with some aspects open as early as this fall. This looks like so much fun.
The free park will feature kayaking, boogie boarding, whitewater rafting, and even surfing on the Winnipesaukee River year-round according to Boston.com. Marty Parichand, who is the founder of Mill City Park tells Boston.com, “There are 300 whitewater parks across the country and there’s not one here. It’ll totally change the game for Franklin, and it will do so with free outdoor recreation.” Free outdoor recreation sounds like just what is needed to revitalize the shops and restaurants in town. ....

Fairly heavy falls about 75 mm can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Western and North-western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts. Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Central, Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces during the morning. General public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. On the apparent northward relative motion of the sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 05th to 14th of April in this year.
