SAN ANGELO, TX Now that the City of San Angelo has reaffirmed it will allow Lifepoint Baptist Church and Texas Tumbleweeds Gymnastics to carry on with the commercial use of LBC’s gym, the battle between the church and a few Santa Rita neighborhood landowners has moved back into the district courtroom.
LBC applied at the City for, and received, a special use permit, or exception, to use its gymnasium for commercial purposes even though the gym is located on property that is zoned as residential. Some Santa Rita residents objected, fearing that allowing commercial use of the gym could become an initial domino to fall fostering an encroachment of commercial businesses into their historic neighborhood. The attorneys for the church said LBC was wanting to maximize the use of the gym facilities by leasing it to Texas Tumbleweeds that runs faith-based gymnastics programs for San Angelo youth. Granville Law Director says action will be taken anti-mask protesters

Those who did so may face presently unspecified legal ramifications for disrupting the business, according to Granville Law Director Bill Mattes.
The MAD demonstrators actions within the local independent grocer, which has a strict mask policy but offers curbside pickup for those who cannot or will not wear masks, was recorded on video and posted to Facebook and YouTube, drawing numerous comments, most of them in opposition to the demonstrators.
In the video, when told by market employees that masks are required within the store, one of the group of unmasked protestors claims, We re medically exempt.
Demonstrators are then heard laughing and ignoring calls to leave as they go deeper into the store, talking of filing lawsuits, then clapping and chanting, Take off the masks. ....

Granville Police were called to two locations in the Village on Saturday. They dispersed small groups of anti-mask protestors who came to town with the stated intent to support two Granville area businesses that invite patrons to remove facial coverings within their shops.
A group identifying itself as “Moms Against DeWine” came to Granville to show support for Knucklehead’s Burgers and Ice Cream, 470 S. Main St., and for Prospect Street Smoothie, located at 134 N. Prospect St. in downtown Granville.
The group also announced on Facebook it would be demonstrating outside the Granville area home of a Gov. Mike DeWine-appointed state health official. ....
