Covid fund dishes up Â£4,000 grant for meal service
Volunteer chefs from the Olive Tree Café have been helping prepare hundreds of meals for the elderly for Central Swindon North Parish Council
A HOT meals delivery service that provides a nourishing meal and much-need social contact is continuing in Swindon thanks to a grant from Wiltshire Community Foundation.
Central Swindon North Parish Council has been awarded a second grant from the Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund to continue the scheme, which delivers up to 90 meals a week.
It was launched by the council with a £2,340 grant in August and has now been awarded a further £4,000 to keep going. ....

Wiltshire Council receives £1 million to support vulnerable people this winter

Fuel poverty affects people across Wiltshire
More than a million pounds will be dispersed across Wiltshire this winter to help ensure people are kept safe, well and warm.
The Government’s £170 million national COVID Winter Grant Scheme was made available this month to support people with the cost of food, energy, water bills and other essentials.
Wiltshire Council was awarded £1,107,932.98 and will be supporting charities such as the Wiltshire Community Foundation.
Cllr Philip Whitehead, Leader of Wiltshire Council, said: “Winter can be a tough time for some people, even more so after the events of this year, so we welcome this extra support. ....
