A Hopkinsville dealership donated to the Pennyroyal Arts Council to invest in equipment to allow the historic Alhambra Theatre to live-stream performances.
Sisk Honda donated $15,000 to allow the venue, which has been temporarily closed or operated at a limited capacity due to COVID-19 restrictions, to offer another way to take in shows. The live-stream option makes the arts more accessible to community members, especially those who may not feel comfortable attending a performance in-person.
Pennyroyal Arts Council Executive Director Margaret Prim said this changes their landscape and relevance.
The first show that would’ve used the new equipment would have been Casey James. The show was also going to feature limited attendance but ended up being postponed due to restrictions from Governor Andy Beshear.
