Having a safe and affordable place to call home is a struggle for too many Nova Scotians. That’s why the provincial, federal and municipal governments are supporting the creation of more than 50 new affordable housing units in Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM).
Municipal Affairs and Housing Minister Chuck Porter, and Families, Children and Social Development Minister Ahmed Hussen, announced today, Dec. 21, details of the Rapid Housing Initiative in HRM. In addition to a federal investment of $8.7 million, the province will contribute more than $1.8 million to help ensure three projects are sustainable over the long term. ....
