US DOT Rebrands BUILD Grants to RAISE Grants, Gives Notice of $1 Billion in Funding
The Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity, or RAISE Discretionary Grant program, announced that $1 billion in funding is available for grants to support infrastructure projects.

Hillsborough County was recently awarded the BUILD grant, now called RAISE grants, to help improve the Big Bend Road corridor and make it safer for motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists as well as parents and children getting to the two Hillsborough County schools on the corridor.
Since 2009, Congress has dedicated nearly $8.9 billion for twelve rounds of National Infrastructure Investments to fund projects that have a significant local or regional impact. BLACKBURN with Darwen Council is now geared up to pay government grants to businesses hit by the latest coronavirus lockdown. Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced one-off top up grants for retail, hospitality and leisure businesses worth up to £9,000 per property to help those required to close by law through to the Spring. The sums are £4,000 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under; £6,000 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000; and £9,000 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000 Borough regeneration boss Cllr Phil Riley said the council would make payments as soon as possible.
