Port-of-Spain, December 21, 2020–Caribbean Airlines Cargo is currently developing a Covid-19 vaccine transportation plan to ensure its readiness to distribute the vaccine throughout the Caribbean. The airline is currently consulting with stakeholders in advance of making preparations for the movement of the vaccine. This was announced in a press release today, but the company’s statement conceals more that it reveals, and does not specify which vaccine(s) are planned for. The Pfizer vaccine requires storage at abnormally low temperatures, and it had been assumed by many experts that it could not be distributed in areas lacking ultra-low temperature freezer storage, but the Caribbean Airlines press release hints at “temperature-controlled shipments” which could be an indication of plans to handle the Pfizer vaccine. ....
