PETERSBURG - The philanthropist who owns the historic Hudson-Day House on High Street is at it again. Last year, Bill Nicholson treated the City of Petersburg s firefighters as well as the entire police force to Local Vibe Café meals.
Instead of food this go-around, Nicholson s act of kindness involves museum assets valued at around $60,000.
In October 2020, Nicholson s friend Lisa Pirelli introduced him to Virginia Museum of History and Culture [VMHC] Exhibit Designer Bryan Condra who shared with Nicholson that the museum under new leadership had embarked on a major remodeling.

HAMPTON, Va. A high honor in Hampton.
On Friday, Fort Monroe received a major historical designation from Virginia Governor Ralph Northam. Fort Monroe was recognized as an international site joining 50 other sites around the world.
“In 1619 the first Africans arrived here on a ship called the White Lion. What follows was the enslavement of both African people and American Indians,” said Northam.
Northam announced Fort Monroe is now a part of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Fort Monroe is now designated as a Site of Memory with UNESCO’s Slave Route Project.
