Siemens Microgrid to Provide Balancing Services to Grid in Austria

Under construction since 2019, the Siemens campus microgrid includes 312 kW at peak capacity of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, 500 kW/500 kWh battery storage and Siemens eMobility charging stations. A Siemens Desigo building management system is also in place to adjust heating supplies during peak load periods, and a Siemens microgrid controller sits at the heart of the microgrid.
“A smart microgrid controller centrally orchestrates the connected assets and optimizes the power supply to take account of peak loads and grid capacity utilization,” said Werner Brandauer, head of business development, Siemens Smart Infrastructure Digital Grid, in a recent Siemens story. ....

Toshiba Transmission & Distribution Systems (India) Pvt. Ltd., (TTDI), a Toshiba Group company located in Telangana, that manufactures and sells distribution transformers, power transformers and switchgears, along with EPC business, has been certified by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) as a Japan-India Institute for Manufacturing (JIM).

Siemens/Aral ready stations for future mobility

Aral, a subsidiary of the bp group in Germany, has tasked Siemens Smart Infrastructure with expanding the grid connection at 30 selected petrol stations.
The installation of intelligent substations allows Aral to upgrade its stations with ultra-fast charging technology for electric vehicles.
By equipping our gas stations with charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, we are taking a major step forward in creating the gas station of the future, said Aral board member, Patrick Wendeler.
To make charging as fast as putting fuel in your car, we have opted for ultra-fast charging stations with a power of up to 350 kW. But chargers alone are not enough: The retrofit also requires a powerful and reliable grid connection. That is why we are glad to have Siemens with its expertise in electrical infrastructure at our side. ....
