Gov. Ron DeSantis and his cabinet recognized a Florida Highway Patrol trooper with a top award for his efforts in ending a dangerous vehicle chase that began in Citrus County.
State and Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) leaders on Tuesday, Dec. 15, named Trooper Curtis Vaughn as the FHP Trooper of the Year via the passing of a resolution.

âTrooper Vaughn displayed outstanding gallantry in the apprehension of a suspect committing a criminal act,â FHP Director Col. The Inverness City Council will decide Tuesday on a letter to its local legislative delegation listing some of its concerns and challenges that Inverness will face.
The letter to Rep. Ralph Massullo and Sen. Wilton Simpson is the result of the state legislators canceling their annual local legislative delegation meetings due to the risks associated with the coronavirus pandemic.
