- April 30, 2021, 11:31 AM Viasat’s Ku Advanced in-flight connectivity (IFC) system is now available for Bombardier Challenger 604, 605, and 650 business jets following STC approval from the FAA, the California-based satcom provider announced this week. The KU Advanced IFC system offers improved performance and coverage over existing air-to-ground or satellite L-band systems, according to Viasat. “With this new STC, current Challenger business jet owners and operators no longer need to be left behind using a sub-par IFC system,” said Viasat business area director for business aviation Claudio D’Amico. “We are paving the way for them to cost-effectively take advantage of Viasat’s increased speeds and near-global coverage offered through the Ku Advanced service.” ....
April 2021 214 Emirates Aviation University (EAU), a leading educational institution for aeronautical and aviation studies in the Middle East, has introduced a wind tunnel to its facilities with a grant from Boeing Middle East.
The new wind tunnel will give students practical and experimental learning opportunities to examine flow physics around aircraft and other vehicles and machines.
Over 400 undergraduate and postgraduate students at EAU’s School of Engineering will benefit from the new wind tunnel. As a teaching tool, it will enable them to conduct experiments under different simulated wind force conditions.
The wind tunnel complements the EAU School of Engineering’s curriculum which has a focus on providing hands-on experience and research opportunities for Bachelor degree programmes such as Aerospace Design Projects, Experimental Techniques, and Flight Vehicle Dynamics & Stability; as well as Master’s degree programm ....
