Commissioners were told construction could begin this summer on the site, which may require environmental remediation as it is the former location of a sprawling Teledyne Continental Motors manufacturing complex. The plans for the long-vacant “Harbor 31” property across Shoreline Drive from downtown include single-family and duplex residences that developer Dan Henrickson said would be the first to be developed. An updated “planned unit development” proposal for the “Harbor 31” property off Shoreline Drive near downtown recently was approved by the Muskegon Planning Commission.
