2 crashes on High-Rise Bridge in Perquimans County leaves multiple people injured (Source: Pixabay) and last updated 2021-06-06 16:50:01-04 PERQUIMANS COUNTY, N.C. - Two separate crashes on the High-Rise bridge caused multiple injuries and travel lanes to shut down Saturday evening. According to officials, 9:33 p.m., they received multiple calls for a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles on the southbound side of the High-Rise bridge. When crews arrived they found two vehicles with extensive damage. One vehicle had two occupants, with one occupant having to be taken by Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, and Perquimans County EMS transported the second occupant to Sentara Albemarle Medical Center. ....
2 people sent to hospital after crash near intersection of Ocean Highway and N.C. 37 Highway WPIX By: Web Staff and last updated 2021-05-07 20:27:22-04 PERQUIMANS COUNTY, N.C. - Two people were sent to the hospital following a crash near the intersection of Ocean Highway South and NC 37 Highway that involved two vehicles. Police say on May 6 at 8:46 p.m., officials received a call for the crash. The crash involved a log truck and a four-door car that was transporting two people and had extensive damage. One occupant of the car was able to be removed from the vehicle without extrication, but officials say the second occupant did require extrication. ....
and last updated 2021-04-12 20:20:25-04 PERQUIMANS Co., N.C. - One person died after a two-vehicle crash in Perquimans County that left two other people hurt Sunday night. At 7:35 p.m. Sunday night, the Perquimans County 911 Center received multiple calls for a crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of Ocean Highway and Hopewell Road. Perquimans County EMS took two of the people inside the vehicles to Vidant Chowan Hospital. East Care Air Ambulance then airlifted one victim to Vidant Medical Center. A third person who was involved in the crash died from their injuries on scene. The Bethel Fire Department, Hertford Fire Department, Perquimans County Sheriffâs Office, Perquimans County EMS, Chowan County EMS, NC State Highway Patrol and two East Care Air Ambulances all responded to the scene. Chief Darren Saunders with Bethel Fire Department provided Incident Command per established National Incident Management System (NIMS) guidelines. ....
