Darmanin’s association with the ASU began as a member and active workplace delegate, from Berry Street Victoria in 1997 and became branch secretary in June 2018, and their first female branch executive president elected in 2014.
She was inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll for Women in 2016 and was the inaugural winner of the Zelda D’Aprano Activist Award by Victorian Trades Hall Council in 2015 as most outstanding female activist for her work in the community services equal pay case and leadership in delivering world-first family violence workplace entitlements.
Darmanin had also spent time seconded to various roles including in the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet, worked on Victorian Government initiatives in gender equality and family violence prevention, and Victorian Trades Hall Council where she coordinated the Your Rights at Work campaign in Victoria in 2006. ....

New Fronditha Care CEO appointed as head of the aged care provider

Fronditha Care this week announced the appointment of Faye Spiteri (Tsolakis) as CEO following the recent resignation of Michael Malakonas.
Fronditha Care President and Board Chair, Jill Taylor (Nikitakis) said, “Faye is an exceptional leader who brings very relevant and diverse skills and experience to the role. She is an accomplished executive with a demonstrated successful track record in leadership roles across the government, corporate and for purpose sectors.”
Ms Taylor confirmed how vitally important it was to the Board to appoint a new CEO with deep knowledge of the business and someone who could act swiftly to recalibrate the organisation which has been transparent about the significant financial and strategic challenges it is currently facing. In November, the gruop released its latest annual report, highlighting the organisation’s milestones for 2019-2020 but also recorded a $6.5 million deficit. ....
