After many stalled efforts and months of negotiations, a bipartisan group of Senate lawmakers reached an agreement this week on advancing the $1.2-trillion infrastructure bill, which includes new funding for roads, bridges, rail, transit and water. While the legislation has cleared its first hurdle it still has a long way to go in the Senate and then the House. President Biden Defends Afghanistan Withdrawal

President Biden announced on Thursday that U.S. troops will be coming home from Afghanistan by August 31, running ahead of schedule of the original September 11 deadline.
