Blue Lion Track & Field Program to Hold Chicken Noodle Dinner, Sunday

The Washington Blue Lion Track & Field program will be hosting a Chicken Noodle Dinner this Sunday, April 25th. Meals will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Washington Middle School.
The school is encouraging those who come for lunch to enter the middle school grounds via DiSario Way on Willard Street, where they’ll then be directed to the line.
Meals will be available for $8.00 with proceeds benefiting the Track & Field program.
To accommodate for COVID-19 restrictions, meals will be available via drive-thru only, and patrons are encouraged to purchase pre-sale tickets at Washington High School. Tickets will also be available on-site at the event. ....

School canceled at Washington Middle due to water main break


There will not be virtual learning today for Washington Middle School students.
Curbside grab-and-go meals are available for pick-up from either high school from 9-9:30 a.m.
All other schools in the Mehlville School District are open. The water main break is only impacting Washington Middle School. ....

What’s the most important thing you have learned in your careers about teaching students?
Answer: The most important thing we’ve learned has been at the heart of our teaching all along the importance of building connections/relationships first and focusing on the academic curriculum to follow. In order to have success with students, creating a relationship built on trust that honors our students’ values and beliefs is essential.
How do you motivate yourselves every day?
Answer: We are continually inspired by one another and feel that we are motivated and better educators as we learn from each other. Working as a team is motivating in itself and seeing our hard work pay off within and beyond the classroom is priceless. In addition to the strength of our bonds as teachers, making the lasting connections with students is also one of the most fulfilling and motivating aspects of our work. ....
