Finding Flexibility It is 5:30 a.m. and the alarm is going off one hour earlier than I’m used to; I groan at the thought of leaving my warm, comfortable bed. I realize it’s still dark and that thought does not sit well with me. Mutiny runs through my veins as I remember what the doctor said, “You need to be walking, not around the house, but around the block.” My body slowly rolls out of bed; I frown at the stiffness I experience. It’s not just my body that’s stiff, it’s my attitude. I’m angry because my husband isn’t getting up with me; he’ll sleep for another hour. I don’t want to do this alone; I want company. This morning it’s all about me, my needs, my wants, and nothing is going my way. I’m not sure why, but I’m angry with God too.

The American Heart Association s Broward Heart Walk Digital Experience Sets Record Goal to Fund Lifesaving Research

Furniture World News By Nic Ledoux on 3/11/2021 The American Heart Association, the leading voluntary health organization focused on heart and brain health for all, has set a record goal of $1.5 million for its 2021 Broward Heart Walk a March 14, 2021 digital experience event. The Broward Heart Walk, in its 27 th year, is a fun and meaningful way to celebrate heart and stroke survivors, raise lifesaving funds and encourage physical activity. This year’s Heart Walk is dedicated in memory of Rick Case, a devoted community leader and longtime champion of the cause.  Chaired by Andrew Koenig, president of CITY Furniture, the 2021 event is well on its way to achieving its aggressive goal with commitments including more than $300,000 from the furniture retailer, the largest ever for any Broward Heart Walk corporate sponsor.
