4 Japanese music organizations call for end to no-audience requests

TOKYO In response to central government preparations to extend the state of emergency currently in effect in four prefectures to combat the spread of the coronavirus, a group of four music organizations released a statement on May 5 calling on the government to rescind its request for events to be held without audiences.
The statement issued by the Japan Association of Music Enterprises, the Federation of Music Producers Japan, the All Japan Concert and Live Entertainment Promoters Conference, and the Music Publishers Association of Japan pointed out that since the lifting of the first emergency declaration in May 2020, no virus clusters have been reported as a result of concerts, theatrical performances or other such events among the organizations member firms for nearly a year. ....
