BELFAST   The following cases were closed in Waldo County Unified Court May 7-18.  Paul J. Zittle III, 46, of Northport, probation violation in Northport Dec. 16, 2017, probation partially revoked and no sentence imposed.  Michael J. Johnson, 39, of Ellsworth, operating after habitual offender revocation in Stockton Springs Oct. 23, 2018, nine months one day in prison and $1,000 fine.  Kathreen Herrick, 31, of Jackson, unlawful possession of a scheduled drug in Thorndike Feb. 12, 2020, dismissed.  Dustyn Wood, 31, of Belfast, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer in Belfast Feb. 3, 2020, five days in jail and $394.46 restitution; operating while license suspended or revoked in Brooks Nov. 14, $250 fine; violating a condition of release in Brooks Nov. 14, five days in jail; violating a condition of release in Brooks Jan. 7, five days in jail; criminal trespass in Brooks Jan. 7, dismissed; operating without a license in Waldo Nov. 21, 14 days in jail; violating a condition

Man who unintentionally shot woman in face sentenced in Waldo County Court

Erica Thoms Mon, 05/10/2021 - 10:45am BELFAST   A Clifton man who pleaded no contest to charges of reckless conduct was sentenced to two years in prison, with all but 120 days suspended in Waldo County Unified Court April 29.  Login Armstrong, 20, stood accused of unintentionally discharging a weapon while disassembling it, after failing to clear the chamber of the weapon in Waldo. The bullet went through Armstong’s hand before striking a female acquaintance in the face, according to an affidavit filed by Waldo County Sheriff’s Department Detective Dale Brown.  In addition to 120 days in jail, with credit for time served, Armstrong will also be placed on probation for two years. He will also have to pay restitution of $12,348.89 to his unintended victim. Armstong is also prohibited from having contact with his victim.
