Role model: Betty Brosmer on the cover of Glamour Parade Credit: BettyBrosmer.com/BettyWeider.com Billie Eilish’s uncharacteristically sultry, cleavage-bearing photoshoot for this month’s British Vogue, timed to introduce her new, blonder look to the world for the release of forthcoming album Happier Than Ever, has inspired a rash of internet opinion. Some say she has betrayed her young female fans by abandoning her baggy-jumpered, green-haired two-fingers to normative patriarchal beauty standards; others say it’s her body, her choice, and no one’s business but her own; while still others accuse Vogue of pressuring her into the look. (Although in the interview, Eilish stresses that the shoot was entirely her idea.) ....
email article A couple of weeks ago, I received a text from my aunt that included a link to a physician-created YouTube video about the COVID vaccine. This creator has built her fame and fortune as an anti-vaccination proponent. Knowing that her videos are rubbish, I ignored the text. A couple of days ago, though, I received the same text message, this time with my aunt imploring me to PLEASE READ! I went back and forth on whether to respond or not and ultimately decided to take the bait. I replied that the video creator is a charlatan and a disgrace to the medical community and that she is especially dangerous because attached to her misinformation about vaccines and COVID-19, in general, is her medical degree, which gives her some credence to the layperson. The video creator also promises her viewers special information, little secrets that they don t want you to know. During a pandemic with a novel virus and much uncertainty, people will latch onto this ....

My previous article on the Roswell controversy of early July 1947 – at the Foster Ranch in Lincoln County, New Mexico – focused on a portion of the Japanese part of the story. It’s a story that revolves around (A) Japanese documents captured at the end of the Second World War – on huge Japanese balloon arrays – and (B) Dr. Lincoln LaPaz, someone who was directly tied to both the Roswell event and Japanese balloons. I should stress (and I will in this article) that this is far from being the only Roswell-Japan connection. As you will see right now, a very curious UFO-themed story surfaced in the United States in May 1949. It caught the attention of the FBI, an agency that had been keeping a careful watch on the subject since the summer of 1947, when the flying saucer exploded on the world stage. On May 26, an FBI document – captioned “Flying Discs” – was written and revealed the facts concerning a strange saga. It stated: “Walter Winchell forwarded to the Direct ....
