SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Feb. 2, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Bexson Biomedical, Inc., a research-stage company developing a subcutaneous ketamine treatment platform for pain management and mental health disorders, announced today that they closed a $4.8 million Series A round of financing. Funding will support the company through pre-clinical and GMP manufacturing scale up for its proprietary ketamine formulation, BB106, and the development of a wearable delivery device with leading medical device manufacturer, Stevanato Group.
Bexson is developing a wearable ketamine pump with Stevanato Group.
In September, Bexson signed an agreement with Stevanato to produce a customized version of the SG EZ-be Pod®, a small, wearable, and programmable device. The device is designed to enable dynamic and convenient subcutaneous delivery for patients, compared to current ketamine infusions that have a high procedural burden and high cost. ....

Bexson Biomedical Closes $4.8M Series A Financing To Develop Wearable Ketamine Technology

The $4.8 million raise was led by Greyhouse Partners Noetic Psychedelic Fund.
Noetic advisor Warren Wright also agreed to join Bexson’s board of directors, supporting the company in expanding its research programs to facilitate dosing and delivery technologies for a variety of therapies beyond ketamine.
According to management, the funds will allow the company to develop wearable ketamine technology and an accompanying device for pain management.
Unlike other companies focused on psychedelics for the treatment of mental health issues, Bexson is betting on “the neurological connection between the mind and the body.”
Wright believes “we will continue to discover a wellspring of potential use-cases for these powerful compounds” beyond mental health. ....

Ruth E. Straub, 73, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021. Surviving is her husband of 51 years, David B. Straub, who was the absolute love of her life.
Born Jan. 24, 1947 in Abington, she was a daughter of the late William and Marie (Willard) Wright.
Ruth’s greatest roles in life were raising her family, making her house a home and serving the Lord. She took great pride in her organization skills and paying attention to details. She instilled values of faith, family and hard work in her children and led by example, helping provide for her family by harvesting and canning from her large garden. ....
