Dedham Town Hall prepares to reopen to the public
The bad news – parking’s tight, and it’s about to get tighter.
Nearly a year after town employees moved into the former Ames School on Washington Street, Town Manager Leon Goodwin announced that the building will be open to the public on May 24, to coincide with the summer schedule.
Currently, the public is allowed into Town Hall by appointment only.
During his announcement to members of the Select Board on April 29, Goodwin said there will be open houses on May 15 and 22; the May 15 open house will be for the Senior Center, while the May 22 open house will be for the entire building. ....

Maine lifts outdoor mask requirement

UGUSTA This week, Governor Janet Mills announced that Maine is updating its public health guidance to remove the requirement that people wear face coverings in outdoor settings. 
The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that people wear face coverings in outdoor settings where it is difficult to maintain physical distancing. Face coverings are still required for indoor public settings, and there are no changes to Maine’s physical distancing requirements at this time.  
The change is effective immediately and relevant guidance documents will be updated in the coming days.

LED projects qualify for rebates 
MOUNT DESERT The town will pay MCM Electric in Hall Quarry up to $48,600 to replace existing light fixtures with LED lights at the police department in the Town Hall building and in the truck bays at the highway garage. 
By participating in the Efficiency Maine rebate program, the town will receive $7,132 in rebates for the two LED projects. 
The Board of Selectmen voted at a special meeting Monday to approve the expenditure and to accept the rebates. 
Public Works Director Tony Smith said estimates for furnishing and installing the LED fixtures were requested from four local electrical contractors that are certified by Efficiency Maine. MCM Electric was the only contractor that submitted an estimate.  ....
