Mickey Brady explains, “The reported move by gas company Firmus to increase bills by 17.5 per cent will hit customers hard.
“Particularly now during the pandemic when people are at home more and using more gas.

“This increase will be applied across a number of areas of the north, including Newry and Armagh.
“Many people switched their home heating to gas and will now be hit hard in the pocket and drive more people into fuel poverty.
He adds, “Sinn Féin have written to Firmus calling for an urgent meeting to discuss this grossly unfair proposed price hike.” ....

Domestic LPG price hiked by Rs 25 per cylinder, to cost Rs 819 in New Delhi

The price of a domestic cooking gas (LPG or Liquefied Petroleum Gas) cylinder has been hiked by Rs 25 a piece from Monday. After the price revision, a 14.2 kilogram (kg) domestic LPG cylinder would cost Rs 819 in New Delhi. The price of commercial LPG cylinders of 19 kg was hiked by Rs 95 a piece to Rs 1,614 a cylinder. The prices were hiked similarly across the country.
Currently, there is no subsidy available on cooking gas. LPG prices are generally revised at the beginning of every month. But they were hiked thrice in February 2021. Domestic LPG cylinder price was hiked from Rs 694 a cylinder in January 2021 to Rs 719 a cylinder on February 4. The price was once again hiked by Rs 50 to Rs 769 a cylinder on February 15 in the national capital. A third price hike of Rs 25 per cylinder was done on February 25. ....

Gas prices up again by 10 cents

From $4.30 a gallon, the regular gas price is now $4.40 a gallon.
Mobilâs premium gas price went up to $4.85 a gallon from $4.75 a gallon while the diesel price went up to $4.58 a gallon from $4.48 a gallon.
Shell Marianas is expected to follow suit.
On Tinian, Mayor Edwin Aldan said the only gas station there has raised its price to $6.12 a gallon.
He said changes in gas prices in the world market are beyond the control of the local government. ....
