Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon, in his capacity as the chairman of the National Water Resources Committee, has ordered all relevant state agencies to prepare for major downpours across 22 provinces which may trigger flash floods and landslides on Tuesday.
Gen Prawit s assistant spokesman, Patchasak Patirupanont, said the deputy PM had ordered the Office of National Water Resources, the Interior Ministry and the Royal Irrigation Department to provide assistance to those who might be affected by the heavy rain brought on by the strong southwesterly monsoon winds which are prevailing over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. ....

PENAMPANG: Many motorists and residents here were left stranded after several hours of incessant rain since Wednesday evening inundated at least 12 localities in the district. 
A brief power outage was reported in Kg Panglima Banting and its surrounding areas with Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd issuing a notice via Short Messaging System informing of an emergency power shutdown to make way for repair works on a damaged cable connection at 9.05pm on Wednesday. Power supply was restored at 9.33pm.
The rain accompanied by strong winds at 2am also left many fallen branches and uprooted trees in several areas here and Kota Kinabalu. The floods also resulted in water supply disruption in several areas in Penampang and Kota Kinabalu on Thursday.  ....
