New hope for Tavern at the A, Hotel on North restaurant with alcohol, entertainment licenses

PITTSFIELD — Music soon might fill the halls of Tavern at the A, courtesy of new ownership and a new entertainment license. During a meeting Monday, the Pittsfield Licensing Board approved an amended entertainment license for the owners and operators of Skyline Country Club, who will be running Tavern at the A. The restaurant at the General Electric Athletic Association previously was known as the Back Nine Bar and Grill. Neighbors said they are happy to see the restaurant rebounding from the coronavirus pandemic, but they are concerned about the atmosphere that entertainment at the restaurant often creates in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Mill Town buys second lodging property Yankee Suites in Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD — Mill Town Capital has made another foray into the local lodging market by purchasing the only facility in the Berkshires that is specifically set up to accommodate long-term guests. The Pittsfield-based private investment firm paid $2.25 million to purchase the Yankee Suites Extended Stay complex in Pittsfield from Toole Properties 2002, Inc., according to documents filed at the Middle Berkshire Registry of Deeds. Toole Properties is a subsidiary of the Berkshire-based Toole Cos., which owns three other lodging establishments in Lenox. Mill Town, which has obtained a mortgage on the property with Greylock Federal Credit Union, will operate its new acquisition under the subsidiary, Rivera Properties LLC. Toole converted the former apartment building on West Housatonic Street into an extended stay facility after purchasing it in 2002. According to Mill Town’s Managing Director/CEO Tim Burke, the complex contains a mixture of 26 studio and one bedroom suites. â€

Mill Town Prepares for Future Skyline Entertainment

The Board of Selectmen meets on Monday. LANESBOROUGH, Mass. Food, liquor and entertainment licenses have been granted to Skyline at Seven LLC at the former Skyline Country Club, though activity there is not anticipated anytime soon. Tim Burke of Mill Town, who purchased the former country club for $750,000 earlier this year, told the Selectmen on Monday that while most of the property will be devoted to the planned installation of solar fields, the plan is to reintroduce the main building for events consistent with the club s previous usage. We have no plans to do anything this year, but do expect to have some event type structure eventually, Burke said.
