Stearns School Road between Hunt Club Road and Dilleys Road in Gurnee will be closed for nine months beginning Monday, March 15, to accommodate construction of a new bridge over the Tri-State Tollway (I-94). Access to Gurnee Mills Mall off Stearns School Road will remain open. The 70-year old bridge is being replaced and will be closed to accommodate construction and reduce the work duration. The Illinois State Toll Highway Authority, village of Gurnee and Lake County Division of Transportation are partnering in the project. The new bridge will provide for three lanes of traffic and added bicycle and pedestrian access. Traffic will be detoured to Dilleys Road, Grand Avenue (Route 132) and Hunt Club Road.

The Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago will host its next Community Tele-Town Hall from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23. All are invited to participate.
The town hall is an opportunity to get the latest COVID-19 updates, including COVID-19 vaccination information.
Participants also may learn about the center s health care and other services and ask Lovell Director Dr. Robert Buckley and Deputy Director/Commanding Officer Capt. Thomas Nelson questions.
The tele-town hall is done in a format like a radio talk show. Participants receive an automated call prior to the start of the town hall asking them to join. Then they may provide their question to a screener and are placed in the queue to potentially ask their question in front of the live audience. Participants who aren t called on and/or can t listen to the entire call may leave voice mails with their questions. All questions left on voice mail during and after the call

Lake County Health Department officials said two complaints have been filed against the four Gurnee-area restaurants whose owners decided to open for customers last Friday.
Lawrence J. Mackey, the department s director of environmental health, said officials will visit each restaurant in the coming days.
The owners of Kaiser s Pizza and Pub, Timothy O Toole s Pub and Restaurant, Stevens of Gurnee and The Shanty of Wadsworth announced their intentions to resume indoor dining at 25% capacity about two weeks ago.
Mackey said if the restaurants are found to be in violation of state COVID-19 restrictions, such as serving customers indoors, they will be issued a violation notice.
