Photo: Google Maps Trying to contact your doctors via the phone can be a frustrating experience at the best of times. Of course, GP surgeries are a busy place and staff cannot give all of their attention to taking calls, but some surgeries are much harder to get a hold of than others. Here are the three hardest GPs to contact via phone in Watford, according to patients. The data is taken from the 2021 GP surgery Survey, which provides an overview of patients’ experiences with primary care services.

Watford’s MP praised the work of local homelessness charities for their efforts in reducing homelessness in the area, as he calls for more long-term housing. MP Dean Russell has been working closely with Watford Borough Council and charities such as New Hope and One YMCA to help tackle homelessness. And following a series of successes and efforts in reducing the number of rough sleepers in town, the MP brought up the topic in the Commons. Back in January it was declared there was a period of no verified rough sleepers on the streets of Watford, which New Hope CEO Matthew Heasman said had not happened “for a generation”.
The second mass vaccination centre in Hertfordshire has opened today in a push to make more vaccination slots possible. While smaller vaccination centres have opened in the local area, some residents might be asked to book slots at Hertfordshire’s mass vaccination centres. Avanti Meadows Primary School, a new school in Bishops Stortford, will utilise its unused space as a Covid-19 mass vaccination centre from today (February 1). The school was set to first open in the September 2020 Autumn term, but the school is now expected to open by September 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Instead of leaving the grounds unused, Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT) is using its car park and the school itself to administer the vaccine.
