Crowded House Release New Single Playing With Fire Thursday, 13 May 2021 Crowded House have released a new single, Playing With Fire. The indie-pop track with big band elements is taken from their first album in over 10 years, Dreamers Are Waiting , which is due out on June 4. Lead vocalist and guitarist Neil Finn said: “This song was formed out of a Crowded House jam, live in the studio but then evolved its character through many twists and turns during quarantine in 2020. ‘Playing With Fire’ carries within it the contradiction I often feel on joyous occasions, the presence of hope together with an impending sense of doom.” ....
Crowded House Detail First LP In Over 10 Years Dreamers Are Waiting , Share New Track To The Island Thursday, 18 February 2021 Crowded House have announced their first album in over a decade. Dreamers Are Waiting , the follow-up to 2010 s Intriguer , is due to arrive on June 4 via EMI Records. It will include the newly released track To The Island, along with their 2020 single Whatever You Want, the video for which featured Mac DeMarco. Musically, the new offering is a slow-burning pop number that rolls out over a steady drumbeat and swirling vocals, for an almost hypnotising, psychedelic aesthetic. The Australian band currently comprises founders Neil Finn who is also a touring member of Fleetwood Mac and Nick Seymour, along with returning producer and keyboardist Mitchell Froom, singer and guitarist Liam Finn and his younger brother, drummer Elroy Finn.
