Photo courtesy of Sue Roush A snapping turtle rests on a live trap inside a Rainsboro swimming pool before it was rescued. Photo courtesy of Sue Roush When it raised its head above the murky waters of her draining pool, Sue Roush said that to her, it looked like Godzilla. “I had the water halfway down and I saw something swishing around in the water. The water got a little lower and then the thing stuck its head up out of the water. I didn’t know what to think. My first thing was, ‘Oh my God, it’s Godzilla. It was so big,” said Roush, a Rainsboro resident for the last 22 years. “I texted my friend Jill and she said, ‘It can’t be that big.’ I said, ‘I’m telling you…’” ....
DEAR ABBY by Abigail Van Buren SISTER-IN-LAW IS BURDENED BY KNOWLEDGE OF MAN S PHILANDERING DEAR ABBY: My husband works out of town with his brother, who is married. While I m not close to my sister-in-law, I like her just fine. My problem is, my husband keeps sharing with me that his brother is unfaithful while he travels, and I have actually overheard him on a call with my husband trying to show my husband nude pictures of other women. I cannot express how much this boils my blood. It s not only from the perspective of someone who has been cheated on before (not by my husband), but also that his brother s bragging with photos shows he doesn t respect ANY marriage or relationship. ....
DEAR ABBY: I have been married more than 25 years and have kids. I'm also gay. I always have been, but when I was a teenager, it wasn't acceptable and I always believed I would just outgrow it, or learn to live with it. Then came the computer era and the internet things I never dreamed of while growing up. They changed my life, yet I'm still closeted. ....
Dear Abby: Family and friends have doubts about widower’s younger woman Posted May 10, 2021 DEAR ABBY: I am a widower. I lost my wonderful wife of 35 years to heart disease eight years ago. I have had no relationships with women since then. Recently, I had the pleasure of meeting a very nice woman, “Yvonne.” She’s 11 years younger and has never been married. We see each other socially and enjoy each other’s company. We are both retired, have our own money and neither of us is interested in marriage. My son and daughter, both married with children, are split in their opinions about this. My son is happy for me, but my daughter thinks Yvonne is too young for me and wonders why she never married. Some of my friends actually side with my daughter. ....
Dear Abby: Half-sister obsesses over newfound brother Today 12:01 AM DEAR ABBY: Six months ago, my husband, “Lee,” met his long-lost sister, his father’s daughter from a previous marriage. Lee’s father passed away when he was 6; he is now 30. Since he and his four siblings met their half-sister, she has become obsessive over him. She calls and keeps him on the phone for hours, three or four times a week. I didn’t mind at first, but it has gotten out of control, and she constantly texts him. If Lee doesn’t respond, she texts him asking if he’s angry. She expresses how “in love” she is with him and how happy she is to have met him. (She doesn’t say these things to the others.) When I recently expressed my concern, he got offended. ....
