Accessing the web has become part of our everyday lives. Web archiving is performed by libraries, archives, companies and other organizations around the world. Many of these web archives are represented in the International Internet Preservation Consortium (IIPC) . This article documents goals and activities of the IIPC Preservation Working Group (PWG), such as a survey about the current state of preservation in member web archives and a number of collaborative projects which the Preservation Working Group is developing. These resources are designed to help address the preservation and long-term access to the web by sharing ideas and experiences, and by building up databases of information for support of preservation strategies and actions.

In 1790 the first decennial United States federal census had its beginnings with a simple purpose to count people. The main objective was to determine the number of representatives to Congress from each state.
The framers of the Constitution did not have genealogy in mind when they called for the enumeration of residents of this new country. However, despite its original purpose the census has become an important tool for those doing family research. When the National Archives became the repository for the census records and released the information contained in them to the public in 1952, one of the qualifications was: “After the lapse of seventy-two years from the enumeration date of a decennial census, the National Archives and Records Services may disclose information contained in these records for use in legitimate historical, genealogical or other worth-while research. . .” This decision by our government has become

Mozilla is making it easier for Firefox users on Android to install supported extensions. Until now, mobile users could only install extensions from the Add-ons Manager, that Mozilla said tended to cause confusion for those accustomed to the desktop installation process. Starting with Firefox 85, set to will release on January 25, Firefox users on Android will be able to install supported recommended extensions directly from the addons.mozilla.org (AMO) page.
