Bill Bonadio Jr. founded Papa Dio’s Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar more than four decades ago, but on a sunny spring afternoon in 2021 he’s headed out the door “to sell a guy a carburetor” when the media arrives.

After 19 years, Candace Gideo is back in her element. After closing Papa’s Little Italy in 2003, Gideo has worked in various food-service jobs, including her own pizza place in Arcadia and a food truck she operated with her husband and two sons.
