This is Old Florida: the slower, simpler kind that has yet to welcome mass tourism.
Instead of Starbucks, there is Yes Coffee Co; in place of McDonald’s, there is Whaam Burger; and instead of fancy high-rise resorts, there is the humble, low-rise Beach Front Motel. A more guileless, straightforward approach would be hard to find. The highway signs even warn of gopher tortoise crossings. Yes, that slow. ....
