Augusta Health is vaccinating everyone age 12 and older who lives, works or goes to school in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are authorized for individuals age 18 and over. Pfizer vaccine is authorized for individuals age 12 and older; a parent or guardian must be present to consent to vaccination of those under the age of 18.

The Augusta Health Waynesboro Assessment Center on Lew Dewitt Boulevard will transition back to be a full-service Urgent Care, including laboratory and x-ray services, on Tuesday, June 8.
Concurrently on June 8, COVID-19 testing for those with respiratory symptoms will be available at three Urgent Care locations: Staunton, Stuarts Draft and Waynesboro.
Augusta Health had converted its Waynesboro Urgent Care to be the Waynesboro Assessment Center on March 19, 2020, to evaluate, treat, test and educate those who were experiencing symptoms associated with COVID-19.

Augusta Health has administered 75,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. More than 38,000 community members have been fully vaccinated at Augusta Health clinics.
Vaccine video series
Augusta Health has created a series of short videos with CEO Mary Mannix, Dr. Allison Baroco, an infectious disease specialist, and Dr. Clint Merritt, Medical Director of Population Health, discussing frequently asked questions about COVID-19 and the vaccine.

People across the country have mixed views about whether to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and that s the case in this area, too.
Valerie Meyers, executive director of the Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce, said she is hearing strong opinions both for and against vaccination. Community members will come in saying that they re anxious to have things back to normal and that the vaccine is the means to make that happen, she said. I spoke to a vendor who s very interested in participating in an event, but who is firm about not doing so while there is any risk of infection.
