Pandemic’s impact on Florida after 1 year
One full year of COVID-19 in Florida has put so many extra miles on nurses, doctors, essential workers, and everyday people.
TAMPA, Fla. - It’s been one year since the novel coronavirus appeared in the Sunshine State from another continent and quickly changed the world.
Monday marks one year since Florida announced its first two cases of COVID-19, and both patients were in the Bay Area.
The cases included an adult from Hillsborough County who traveled to Europe, where the virus was quickly spreading at the time. The second case was a man from Manatee County with no history of foreign travel. ....

More than 1 million Americans have received their first doses of a COVID-19 shot across the country since federal officials authorized two vaccines for emergency use, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
CDC Director Robert Redfield called it an “early but important milestone” in a media statement.
“With cases of COVID-19 continuing to surge nationwide, this achievement comes at a critical time and will help to protect those on the front lines – our health care providers treating COVID-19 patients – as well as our most vulnerable: elder individuals living in nursing homes and assisted living facilities,” Redfi ....

Americans who gather their news exclusively via the national media and through various social media platforms might genuinely believe that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is among the worst public officials in the country.  Ever since DeSantis won a surprise victory over their preferred candidate, then proceeded to rack up astoundingly strong public approval ratings in a key battleground state, journalists and other leftists have been fanatically determined to take him down.  They ve used the pandemic as an opportunity to do so, relentlessly casting him as a reckless villain from the get-go even when the empirical data showed that Florida was, if anything, a national success story, especially compared to the waking nightmare in New York.  An ....
