The Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village looks like a painting in the early morning light, its neat row of white buildings dappled with sun and backed by a rolling green pasture dotted with sheep. Soon, gardeners will arrive to work alongside the Shakers and the hum of daily life will fill the idyllic hillside village.

North Colonie grades K-12 fully remote due to staff shortage

Just one week after returning to the classroom following winter break, North Colonie Central Schools has shifted all grades to remote learning due a staff shortage.
The district announced that Shaker High School was on pause last week. Notices followed this week about the middle school and elementary schools shifting to remote learning. All in-person learning is expected to resume Jan. 19.
